Lime Spreaders
This picture shows an example of our lime spreaders. They are all modern spreaders with wide LGP tyres to reduce compaction. The tractors are also fitted with 800 and 650 Michelin tyres to enable us to travel light. We also use 4 in 1 buckets to aid cleaning up after loading from the ground. We have 3 of our own spreaders to apply the liming materials, with trained operators who know what they are doing and appreciate the importance of even applications. Outside Contractors are used for spreading outside of a 40 mile radius of our depot in North Devon. Our spreaders are all equipped with wide floatation tyres for LGP operation. The tractors have 4-in-1 buckets for loading and leaving a clean site. In addition to lime spreading we also spread a lot of Fibrephos with these machines. Charges for this are £3.00 per acre for larger acreages. |
Storage
We have a lime store which we use for storing up to 4000 tonnes of product. This gives us the ability to get large quantities out on farm in busy periods and over holiday periods or weekends when the quarries are closed. This helps us provide a service second to non in the Southwest.
