Beef at Huish Farm

With the changes in the subsidy making the beef enterprise financially a non-viable operation, we have restructured the enterprise, reducing the cattle numbers from 760 to a total of approx 250 head on farm. This is made up of 120 suckler cows, and all their offspring.

We finish everything on the farm, as steers or heifers. A bull beef unit which use to finish 200+ bulls a year has been mothballed until such time as the price increases making it a viable enterprise.

Natural Beef Co.

In order to try and put the beef enterprise back into profit, we have formed the Natural Beef Company, and started marketing our own beef direct to the consumer in boxes, delivered to the door, nationwide. We have a presence at Farmers markets, and our delivery van is seen regularly throughout North Devon.
